RTVI (previously known as NTV International) was launched in 1997 by the Media Most Group of companies-Russia’s first and only independent media conglomerate.
The main objective of RTVI, then and now, is to create a global television network that would offer Russian-Speaking people throughout the world an independent source of information and entertainment programming in their native language.
This has been successfully accomplished by offering round-the-clock, international, non-governmental broadcasts of acclaimed programming that is specifically tailored to meet the tastes and preferences of the Russian of the Russian-speaking population living in the U.S., Europe, and Israel and Australia.
The programming format of the RTVI television services is similar to that of leading English-language networks, which includes: news, information, feature films, documentaries, sporting events, drama and comedy series, live music concerts, theatrical performances, even children’s shows, movies and cartoons.
RTVI is the only global network of its kind, serving as a bridge to the culture and country that Russian expatriates left behind as well as a window to their newly acquired home. RTVI is the only global Russian-language television network with a full-fledged independent news service, which enables us to provide professional and innovative programming, while maintaining maximum objectivity and credibility. Russian expatriates have recognized RTVI as the most respected and reliable source of information as well as the most popular source of entertainment. As a result, RTVI has become the premier television network for this rapidly expanding community, and presently reaches 50 million people in a territory that includes the United States, Canada, Russia, former Soviet Republics, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
RTVI’s international headquarters in New York City includes television production studios as well as state-of-the-art broadcast facility. We also have a European broadcast center located in Cologne, Germany, as well as studios in Moscow and Tel Aviv.
